More than 1,000 expected in Chicago for conference
More than 1,000 attendees and exhibitor representatives are expected in Chicago for the IAAO Annual Conference, Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, and in addition more than 125 will be participating in the virtual component of the conference.
 
IAAO intends to hold the Annual Conference in Chicago unless the Hyatt Regency Chicago or the city of Chicago will not allow IAAO to conduct the event
 
The annual conference is the premier platform to share successes, discover best practices, and learn about the latest research in the field of property appraisal. More than 70 sessions will be offered at the in-person conference, and the virtual conference component will include access to a select number of education sessions, networking, exhibitors/sponsors, and more.
 
Online registration closes Friday; general registration fees extended to on-site
Online registration for the in-person component of the Annual Conference closes on Friday, Aug. 13.  We understand that due to the current situation of the Covid virus, some attendees may make a last-minute decision to attend.  We will extend the in-person general registration fees of $770 for members and $970 for nonmembers to be available on-site.  Registration for the virtual component will close Wednesday, Aug. 25 and fees will continue to be $595 for members and $795 for nonmembers. 
 
 
Chicago Hyatt Regency hosting all key conference events
From the Welcome Reception on Sunday to the Closing Banquet on Wednesday night, all key conference events will take place in one location this year, the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Attendees are welcome to explore beyond the Hyatt, but in Chicago, as in any big city, be aware of your surroundings, and make sure you know where you are going. For questions or directions, the hotel concierge is a local expert and is ready to help you find options to meet your needs and address any questions you may have.
 
Annual Business Meeting on Sunday, Aug. 29, to feature updates, member recognition and donations; first-time attendee, welcome reception also Sunday
The IAAO Annual Business Meeting, featuring an update on IAAO and finances, member anniversary recognitions, and an opportunity for members to submit donations and or comments will take place from 4 to 4:45 pm on Sunday, Aug. 29, in the Crystal Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Organizations planning on submitting donations should inform Mindy Murphy-Watson at watson@iaao.org to ensure being recognized at the meeting. Also on Sunday is the First Time Attendee Orientation from 3 to 3:45 p.m. and Welcome Reception at the hotel from 5 to 7 p.m.
 
U40 Conference Reception set for Crushed by Giants Brewery
The U40 reception at the Annual Conference will take place from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the Crushed by Giants Brewery, 600 N. Michigan Ave., about a half-mile north of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The U40 Leadership Lab exists to prompt younger involvement in IAAO.
 
Conference golf event set for Aug. 29 at Harborside International
The Illinois Chapter of IAAO is taking registrations forGOlf_2021v5_1978939.png a golf outing on Aug. 29 to take place in conjunction with the IAAO Annual Conference. The event will take place on Sunday, Aug. 29 at the Harborside International Golf Center in Chicago, and will kick off with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $100 and registration and additional information is available on the chapter website. There are a limited number of spots available, and registration closes Aug. 20 or earlier if spots are filled.
