”IVSC and attempting Everest the harder way”

NICK TALBOT is the CEO of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC), a position he has held since July 2016.

According to its website, the IVSC, based in London, is “a not-for-profit organization that acts as the global standard setter for the valuation profession, serving the public interest.

“The IVSC is unique in the role it plays as a valuation standard setter. It is not a valuation trade body. The IVSC is a leader in the mission to raise standards of international valuation practice and is overseen by an independent board of global leaders.”

Before being appointed as CEO at IVSC, Talbot spent 13 years in a variety of international, senior management roles at accounting firms like Ernst & Young and KPMG before joining The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as a director.

Away from work, Nick is a dedicated fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. In 2016, he became the first person with cystic fibrosis to successfully summit Mount Everest, which has so far raised over £100,000 ($130,500) for the trust.
