Legal Seminar

December 5-6, 2019 - Phoenix, Arizona

The IAAO 40th Annual Legal Seminar will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix on December 5-6, 2019 and will cover legal topics of interest to members of the assessment and property tax industry.

Topics for the two-day seminar include recent developments in real property taxation, a discussion of the recent fee simple paper, and ethics for attorneys.

Registration

Attendees may register online or submit a paper form with payment. Fees are $500 for IAAO members and $700 for nonmembers until November 1. After that date fees increase to $550 for members and $750 for nonmembers. For more information, see the registration and hotel page or download the brochure.

Hotel

The seminar will take place at the Intercontinental Hyatt Regency Phoenix. The room rate for attendees is $175 per night, plus various taxes. For more information, see the registration and hotel page.

Scholarships available

The IAAO Scholarship Fund exists for the purpose of promoting ad valorem appraisal professionalism and the Scholarship Fund is available to all IAAO members who need financial assistance to attend IAAO educational activities, including the Legal Seminar.

The application can be found on the IAAO website under the Resources menu and must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the event. The maximum award for this event is $1,250 per recipient. Contact Ashley Lathrop with questions at Lathrop@iaao.org.


Recertification Credit

IAAO professional designees can earn recertification credit (13 hours). If you are participating in other recertification and continuing education programs, please bring the forms or letters to the seminar. We cannot guarantee that the credits will be honored by other entities.

CLE hours

Attorneys will receive a uniform certificate of attendance on the second day of the seminar for filing with their state. IAAO will seek approval for other states that are requested prior to the October 3rd deadline.
