What Data Does IAAO Collect and Why We Collect It?
Most data IAAO collects are used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide.
From General Users.
IAAO collects information from users browsing its Web site through Google Analytics, a service which collects information anonymously and reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page or general user information -- are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

From IAAO’s Members, Prospective Members, Meeting Registrants, and Other Customers.
In addition to the information collected from general users, to gain access to members-only resources, event registration, and IAAO store, members and other users are asked to register and provide limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. IAAO asks users to provide their name, title, organization name, work and home address, and e-mail. Additional information may be requested but is not required. Similar information may be submitted to IAAO through membership applications, conference or seminar registration, publication orders, subscriptions, and contest registrations. Additionally, for some e-mails sent in HTML format by IAAO to its members through its electronic newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email, such as whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message.
How Does IAAO Use Other Data Collected?
Generally, IAAO uses data collected to improve its own web content; to respond to visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop and market products, programs, and services. IAAO uses the information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers to inform users regarding Association news, products, and events. User information is not sold or distributed electronically, however printed lists of member postal mailing addresses are offered to candidates registered to run for the IAAO Board.
Disclosures to Third Parties
. IAAO makes member contact information available through the IAAO Membership Directory and Membership Map to members logged into Members’ Only pages of its web site. On occasion, IAAO may also provide limited data to third parties, or use third parties to provide services to IAAO, such as membership surveys or electronic balloting, however the third parties will not contact members outside of IAAO activities. IAAO does not sell nor provide data to third parties for marketing purposes but may send information on behalf of select third parties, such as the main conference sponsors, to members, conference registrants, or potential attendees.
Consent to Use Personal Information.
IAAO its agents must store, host and otherwise process the information (including personal data) supplied by the User when registering for this Web site to perform contractual duties on transactions. IAAO may send such data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) for processing. If you reside in the EEA, and do not agree to our use of your personal information in line with this Policy you may access the public areas of the website but not the members or commerce sections of the website. In addition, the profile information users supply when registering for the Web site to allow IAAO (or its designated agents) to use the information to send the User unsolicited advertisements, promotions, and solicitations for third parties' products and services.
Updates and access to information
Users may view or update their online profile information upon logging in their account. Users also may opt-out of the member directory list online, or by contacting IAAO at info@IAAO.org
or 816-701-8100. Users residing in European Union countries must opt-in to receive emails from IAAO. Users may also request additional information on file or may request IAAO to delete their information and record.
IAAO contacts may choose not to receive electronic newsletter or promotional materials from IAAO, however IAAO electronic members who chose not to receive electronic communications will continue to receive limited member related communications, such as membership dues and billing information, and IAAO Board election ballots via email.
Credit Card Account Information.
IAAO does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, IAAO submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse, such as PayPal. What Privacy Issues Arise Regarding Links to Other Sites?
This Web site contains links to other web sites. IAAO has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.
