Prep & Trial Seminar
June 18-19, 2020 - Des Moines, Iowa
The 2020 Preparation and Trial of the Property Tax Appeal Seminar is set for June 18-19 in Des Moines, Iowa, on the campus of Drake University at Cartwright Hall. For the first time, the mock trial will feature a case involving a big-box store. Will Shepherd and Peter Korpacz are assisting in adapting the case for the mock trial. Shepherd was the lawyer who argued the original case, and Korpacz was an expert witness.

Attendees will be eligible to receive either CEU or CLE credit. Lawyers interested in obtaining CLE credit must register and note which state they are requesting credit for by April 17. The IAAO Scholarship Fund exists for the purpose of promoting ad valorem appraisal professionalism and the Scholarship Fund is available to all IAAO members who need financial assistance to attend IAAO educational activities, including the Prep & Trial Seminar.

IAAO's Legal Task Force
IAAO’s Legal Task Force supports the mission and commitments of IAAO by offering the unique perspectives of members who are primarily involved or interested in legal issues. The Legal Task Force organizes the annual IAAO Legal Seminar and the Preparation and Trial of the Property Tax Assessment Appeal Seminar.
